Natural ingredients are a very good solution for your homecare tasks if you decided to choose an eco-friendlier approach for your lifestyle or you just suddenly discovered that you have got no detergent left. No panic if the last thing happened to you! Sometimes substitutes can be much more useful than regular detergents and they can have a more soft effect than regular detergents.
Now it is time to take a look at today’s list. We prepared for you a list of ingredients which you can use for laundry and cleaning of stains on fabric as well as for cleaning of different surfaces at home. All of the substances are safe for human health and the environment. And what is the most important all of them can be easily found at each kitchen. Let’s start!
Very unusual detergent at least because it grows on trees. Extremely good for people with skin sensitivity and allergies. Historically this nut was the main cleaning solution for people from China, India, and South-East Asia. You can use these nuts for cleaning stains on fabric, clothes and even use them for your body and hair. The good feature of the nut is its capability for multiple uses before composting them. To use, put them into a fabric bag and throw them into the washing machine with your clothes. Very important to use warm water. It will let nuts lather well and will make the cleaning effect proper.
According to plenty of researches, this beverage is good not only for fun nights. It can be very useful for cooking, cleaning and even for laundry. Though vodka doesn’t perform well with stains removal it is very effective with freshening up clothes. Besides, it has a strong disinfecting effect due to ethyl alcohol in it. Vodka easily removes odors; this is a very important advantage comparing to other detergents. To use it mix equal parts of water and vodka in a spray bottle and spritz the compound on dry clothes.
The liquid consists just of regular water but with one extra atom of oxygen. Despite the proximity to water, it is a very strong detergent substitute, almost as strong as bleach but not that harmful. This detergent is very good for cleaning hard surfaces, but not the best option for cleaning clothes. Due to its non-toxic nature, it is a much safer alternative for living areas. Also as well as vodka Peroxide is a great disinfectant. It can eliminate all sorts of microorganisms and viruses like the H1N1 virus, SARS, and coronavirus. To use it put the liquid into a spray bottle, splash it onto the surface, wait about five minutes and let it bubble and only after wipe it off.
This simple substance (aka sodium tetraborate) was extremely popular in all households. But since the beginning of the rising popularity of synthetic detergents people started to forget about borax. Despite the decrease in its popularity borax can be very useful in cleaning many different surfaces and materials. You can create an all-purpose spray, dissolve 2 teaspoons of borax into 4 cups of hot water, then mix with 1 teaspoon of dish soap and 4 tablespoons of vinegar. Use this to clean countertops, appliances, windows, and more. The effect of this homemade detergent is equal if you use synthetic one, but borax is safe for your health and works as a perfect brightener.
